WiP Wed (01/10/24) And We're Back!

Who scheduled me for an appointment an hour away, first thing in the morning? If I ever catch up with Past Me for doing that, I'm going to give her a piece of my mind. The cats didn't even get their breakfast until after 2 in the afternoon!(However, my appointment went well, I got a huge grocery run done, and found a gas station with not too much of a line at the only working pump, so there is that.) Then I got a little work done, before finally sitting down to write this. What a busy day!
I'm back at work this week... you probably noticed, what with the social media and all. I'm starting out with some handbuilding; I'm going to bring in some Under the Sea pieces. Some parts I'm not quite happy with - I'm using a smaller roller with a wave motif as a border, and the roller gets gummed up SUPER quickly. So I'll probably look for something else for the long term. Meanwhile it'll be whatever I can put my hands on that looks like it might match a water theme.
I'm having a yarn sale! I'm marking down NINE colorways. NINE! They're all 15% off until the end of January, and you can find them here. These colorways will be retired in February, then, after the sae... I do have some plans for anything that's left (think more of those "two yarn and a mug" gift sets I put together at the end of last year) but they won't be available as-is or for custom orders once they're off the site.
I have a small list of soap restocks that need to be made. I don't know that I'll get to them next week, but probably the week after that.
My next shop update will be the 19th, so next Friday... that means the soap will be in the update after that, tentatively on February 2nd.
Let's see... anything else?
After a lot of dreaming and a lot of soul searching and a lot of thinking, I'm going to be taking some time off this year for travel. It'll be sporadic; three weeks in March/April, three weeks in July/August, and three weeks in November. I'll be going to Ireland, Scotland, and England, respectively (sorry Wales, maybe next year). I am ridiculously excited about this and will try not to talk your ears off about it every single post I make from now until then! It means that packages those weeks will not be able to ship until I get back, but hopefully I'll figure out a little something something I can do for people during that time if they order something.
Anything else with me this week....? Media dump! I finished watching CHiPs while I was sick over vacation, and transitioned into The Six Million Dollar Man (apparently I do love some cheesy 70s TV). I just found out the podcast I liked, Mobituaries, was not in fact ended like I thought it had, so I have about two seasons of that to catch up on and I'm THRILLED. If you like forgotten history type podcasts, it's a good one. And in books, at the suggestion of a friend, I just picked up - and devoured - Naomi Novik's "A Deadly Education." I plan to start the sequel pretty much as soon as I'm done working today.
That's kind of it for me this week. What about y'all? What are you working on? What are you planning? What are you reading, watching, listening to? I want to hear what you're up to!
