Good morning, and happy Wednesday! Happy-ish, anyway. I would be happier if I was getting more done this week, but it is what it is.
In ceramics, I'm working on handbuilding, and getting ready to fire the kiln with some things I'd glazed last week that wouldn't fit when I fired it then. But I think I might be having some kiln issues; I've ordered a new thermocouple to see if that's the problem. If it's not, I'll order some new elements. I think the top quarter of the kiln isn't heating like the rest of the kiln. I wish they could tell you what's wrong!
In yarn, I'm getting ready to dye this month's club yarn. After I do that, I have a list of new colorways I want to make - a continuation of the colors inspired by the flora and fauna on my property.
In laser cutting/engraving, I'm working on some restocks on charcuterie boards, and also some new coasters! I made a bunch of coasters for GLAM in December, and they were quite popular. I promised people who missed out on ones they liked, that I'd have them in the shop. So I've got a lot going!
Behind the scenes, I'm testing out a new-to-me social media cross-posting platform. It's hard to get to all the places I want to post... If I sat here at my computer and posted what I want, where I want, I'd be here all day, with all the places! So anything I can do to save myself time is helpful. However (and I'm sure your eyes are glazing over), posting platforms can get expensive. For instance, I used to use Hootsuite, a couple of years ago. I had to drop out when they got to over $50/month for small businesses, and now they're up to $99/month for their cheapest tier! I'm not made of time, but I'm also not made of money. So it's a constant refiguring of what works, and that changes from year to year as companies change.
I know, that was probably boring. But sometimes being your own boss....? Is boring! I'm not here to make everything look Instagram-perfect... I'm here to be a human being. Here, have a sleepy pet picture for tax.
That's about it for me. I've had something in Gainesville both Monday and Tuesday that have taken me away from the studio for half a day each, and I have something else both Thursday and Friday. ... .... checks notes .... Nope, just Thursday. So I get a full day of work today, and then Friday. I'm going to sign off and get to the studio! Meanwhile, though, what are you working on?
