Works-in-Progress Wednesday (03/21/18)

See what happens if I don't write this blog post first thing in the morning? It doesn't happen until almost the end of the work day! Hey, y'all! What are you working on this week?

In ceramics, I wish I was doing more than I am. I have a lot that needs glazing but it's taking a back seat this week, unfortunately.

In soap, I have a small pile of soap on my table to be wrapped, and I just got the Subscription soap out (so if you're in the Year of Soap, start stalking your postal carrier!).

In yarn, I'm dyeing yarn today after having a minor freakout where I couldn't find my dye notebook. Yikes! She's been recovered, though, and most of my day today has been spent on Ashes to Ashes, Changes, and Golden Years. I should have restocks early next week (and a couple of One-Hit Wonders, my yarnies!).

Most of my mental energy this week is being spent trying to learn a new inventory/bookkeeping system called Craftybase. So far I like it. It's a lot to take in, but I think it's going to be really good for HaldeCraft if I use it - much better than GoDaddy Accounting or even Quickbooks Self-Employed.

I'm also flipping out in happiness over how things are turning out for my first HaldeCrate. I've test dyed the yarn, it's beautiful (I'm even knitting up a pair of socks in it). I've painted a tester pineapple mug, and it's flipping amazing. I'm hoping to get the rest of them painted next week. I've made the soap although I still have to wrap it, and next week I'll make the hand lotion and lip balm. Don't forget that the best way to get any or all of these things will be to pre-order -- I'll have limited quantities for sale after I mail out pre-orders and I won't be making more!

I've also been cleaning up my office and studio a little bit (see before-mentioned freak-out session when I couldn't find something vitally important to my business). Cleaning and organizing is not exactly my forte, and it tends to get put on the back burner a lot. This week was a lesson in remembering that putting things off like that is an ineffective decision.

So that's about it for me... what about y'all? How's your week?
