Works-in-Progress Wednesday (07/12/17)

This week I was determined to hit the ground running, except that I seem to have tripped over my feet and fallen flat on my face into a gutter. It's one of those weeks where ... it's not just that things are taking three times as long, it's more like I'm stymied no matter what I try to do. Yesterday it was frustrating me but today all I can do is laugh. I mean, what are the chances that I can't finish A SINGLE THING I've started this week? Nothing! Not a thing! That's actually kind of hilarious! So, what about y'all? What are you working on this week?

In ceramics, I'm trying to get the belated July mug done (and then I need to start on the August one!). I used a new template and it was about half the size I was thinking it would be, so the July mug is really more like... a whiskey cup. Or one of those Japanese teacups with no handles. I meant to do that? ..... I'm also still working on buttons. Buttons, buttons, buttons! I'm dreaming about poking holes in and painting buttons. I hope to be done with everything I have made by the end of the week (but I was hoping to be done about ten days ago, thanks, tonsils!) and I will keep y'all posted on the Facebooks and the Instagrams. I also haven't even started the Sharon Collection yet, even though I know what I want to make and how it will look and what colors I'll glaze them. What else....? I thought there was at least one other ceramic thing going on... if I remember what it is, later, I'll mention it in the comments.

In soap, not a thing is going on except for the two dozen or so unwrapped bars that stare at me from the wrapping station every time I walk past it. Next week I'll send out the subscription service soap (by the way, I've reopened that listing; should you wish to purchase it'll be the same price it would be for the whole year, and you'll still get all twelve bars; two or three bars of soap a month, from the time you sign up through December!)

In yarn, I'm dyeing the new upcoming colorway, Salted Caramel, and I love, love, love it! LOVE IT! I may need a sweater in this, y'all. LOVE IT. Have I mentioned how much I love it?!?!? I'm also getting ready to send out Domestic yarn club (I was aiming for Friday but with the way the week has been crossing me, Monday is more likely) and that will wrap up this round of club. The next round is already open, and spots will remain open until the end of August, or until sold out. The theme next time around is inspired by famous artists (you can read more about the theme here) and y'all, I'm really having a hard time narrowing down my choices! I may fall into a rabbit hole of clubs inspired by specific works of art.

In other things, blacksmithing is going well. I'm getting more confident in my hammering, and I'm really having fun being creative for creativities sake. You wouldn't think that, running a business based on my creativity, that I'd have a lot of untapped creative energy at the end of the day... but smithing is really inspiring my brain to think in new directions and I can see how that is going to spill over into clay and maybe even a few knitting designs.

So, that's about it for me these days... what about y'all? What's setting your hearts on fire? What are you working on, trying to finish, or just enjoying the process of? Do tell!
