Works-in-Progress Wednesday (04/17/19)

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

I'm still a little under the weather, so trying more to clean around the studio and make lists of things that need to be done, more than actual doing... (I do not recommend two sinus infections in two months, to anyone). But I do have a few things going on I can tell you about that are mildly more exciting than "I cleaned off my wedging table today". Granted, that wedging table looks SHARP. About a week or so ago, I finally got all the mugs glazed and glaze fired that I needed for some decal work; now comes the...

Works-in-Progress Wednesday (04/10/19)

Hey, all! It's been a few weeks! We had a great trip up to Indiana, via West Virginia, and back down through Kentucky. We visited many art galleries (oh, Tamarack, I love you so!) and drove though a lot of pretty places, and saw a lot of good people. And that's not even counting time spent with family! But we're back now, and I'm trying to get back into the swing of working, at least as much as the Shop Cats will let me (they were very perturbed that I wasn't there to pet them and lavish attention on them...

Hey, y'all. If you saw my post from the other week, you know that one of the three big things I've been facing the last month or so is how to deal with my main soap distributor almost doubling their price of the goat's milk soap base that I use. I'm not...

Posted by A. Lorena Haldeman on

When I went to the Florida Fiber-In last year, I met Karen, who invited me to apply to be a vendor at the Spring Fiber Fling. I'd never done a rug-hooking event before, but I am familiar with the crafty women who live in and around The Villages (who used to come up to Hanks when we owned the yarn store) so I thought... heck yeah! Let's do it! HaldeCraft at the Spring Fiber Fling The event was fun - I mean, my friend Susan came and helped me and we'd have fun at a funeral; it was great to...

Works-in-Progress Wednesday (03/13/19)

What's going on for y'all this week? How's your week shaping up? The time change is hitting all of us... just about every person I've talked to this week has mentioned not having enough sleep, enough coffee, enough motivation. We're all feeling it! In ceramics this week, I'm working on painting the April mug, and trying to get some restocks glazed. We're going away for a family event the last week of the month, and I'd like to get everything I need for the beginning of next month squared away before then! I'm also working on planning out the second...
