Hurricane Irma cleanup is going well (we're keeping an eye on Maria) and many delayed products will be making their way online this week... as well as a few one-shots made for the hurricane-canceled Florida Fiber-In. Thank you for your continued patience!
Perfect for the plant-and-owl lover (of which I know several), this hefty guy stands ready and willing to help show off your favorite houseplant. He is glazed both inside and out, and thus is fine for outdoor use (although I would consider bringing him inside in sub-freezing temperatures). He is also detailed on both sides, so there is no right or wrong way to have him faced.
I used non-toxic glazes on this piece and it can be washed in hot soapy water or even put through the dishwasher.

I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make are from now-vintage molds that she bought then. My pieces are unique, hand painted, and proudly made in my own home studio. This is a new item for me and as an owl lover, and as someone who is always looking for a unique planter, I'm thrilled about it. I picked up this mold (a reproduction of a 1976 Sittre mold, that with the addition of a lid can also be made as a cannister) and two matching mug molds recently, and am looking at expanding this line in the future. If you are interested in one of a different color, drop me a line; current turnaround on custom orders is running 4-5 weeks
