You know that a yarn bowl, that sits by your side in your living room, is not just a functional piece, but a work of art. It holds your yarn by running the yarn through the guide or through one of the holes, and it has a place of honor in your house. Being that you are a creative person drawn to artistic things, you want more than just your average yarn bowl. Each one of these bowls (although they're really shaped more like fat-bottom bags) is made by hand; slab-rolled, hand-built, and impressed with a textured roller. Even the same color bowl will be slightly different every time it is made. Inspired by a love of clay and a love of yarn, this hand-built one-of-a-kind yarn bowl is something to treasure. This is the kind of piece you can show off, be proud of, and even pass down through the generations.

These bowls are glazed with non-toxic glazes, and can be washed with hot soapy water or even run through the dishwasher in order to be cleaned. Each one is made by hand, slab-rolled, doily-impressed, and hand-cut; while the glaze colors remain the same from firing to firing, the placement of the doily may change from bowl to bowl and your yarn bowl may be slightly different than photographed. They are shaped to be a little wider on the bottom than at the top, helping to make your piece more sturdy and give it less chance of being tipped over if rambunctious pets or children are in the house.

HaldeCraft ceramics begin life as slip-cast, hand-built, or wheel-thrown pieces and then are painted and glazed and put out into the world, all by the hands of one person. I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make incorporate now-vintage molds that she bought then. My pieces are unique, hand painted, and proudly made in my own home studio with confidence, mindfulness, and joy.
